Ebenezer Bible Presbyterian Church

For the last many years, God has never failed to provide for us at EBPC.  We thank God for guiding His many servants to toil and labour for His Glory.

Blessed 21st

Despite the COVID-19 Pandemic, despite the stage 4 lockdown in Victoria, we thank God for the opportunity to still celebrate Ebenezer BPC’s 21st Anniversary online on the 18th Oct.  We were graced with the guest appeareance of many friends, brethren and pastors who have been part of the Ebenezer family over the years.   We thank Pastor Isaac Ong for giving the exhortation on Psalm 29, as well as the wisdom and sharing from Rev Pauwee, Pastor Yeo, Pastor Kwan, Pr HaiSeng Lim, Mrs Anne Tan and many others.

For all these, we give praises and glory to our Lord and Saviour, to whom all glory is due.

A Word for the 20th Anniversary...

Ebenezer Bible-Presbyterian Church —Stone of Help

All glory and praise to our Almighty God for the 20th Anniversary of Ebenezer Bible-Presbyterian Church on Sunday 6th October, 2019. We thank the Lord for raising up Ebenezer B-P Church and providing this lovely church building for Worship Service, Prayers, Bible teaching, and Fellowship located here at 606 - 622 Mt Dandenong Road, Kilsyth, Victoria.

Ebenezer B-P Church is located in the midst of the beautiful creation of God. As we look up to the nearby majestic Dandenong Mountains, we remember Psalm 121:1,2—“I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.”

The meaning of the word Ebenezer is “Stone of Help”(1 Samuel 7:12). This word was given by the prophet Samuel to the stone which he set up in commemoration of God’s help to the Israelites in their victory over the Philistines at Mizpeh. Samuel said “Hitherto hath the LORD helped us.” This was a cry of grateful thanks to God for helping them in their troubles and delivering them. Ever since that day, the name Ebenezer has become a precious word to all believers — Help from God.

Truly our help comes from the Lord, our Maker, our Saviour, and our Helper. We thank and praise God for all that He has done these twenty years at Ebenezer B-P Church. He has helped His people to be a Stone of Help to those who come to seek and worship God and serve Him.

Today we have very much to thank and praise the Lord for His help in our own personal lives. The Psalmist himself prayed to the LORD for help and deliverance in times of trouble. David the Psalmist said, “The LORD preserveth the simple [humble]: I was brought low, and He helped me”(Psalm 116:6).

Then David the Psalmist said, “What shall I render unto the LORD for all His benefits toward me? I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all His people”(Psalm 116:12–14).

Indeed, all of us present here today are grateful for all that the Lord has done for us during these twenty years at Ebenezer. We have precious memories of God’s help that He has given us, through His servants, through our families, through our friends, and our brothers and sisters in Christ. We count our blessings of how God has blessed, guided, given us the Gospel, and provided for each one of us. Like the Psalmist, we give thanks to the Lord for His goodness and mercy to us, in saving us from sin, death and hell, when we believed in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ as our own personal Saviour.

We also give thanks to the Lord for His loving kindness and tender mercies to us in helping us to grow in faith and “in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To Him be glory both now and for ever. Amen”(2 Peter 3:18).  At Ebenezer   B-P Church, God’s Word has been faithfully preached and taught and thus has  helped us to grow spiritually.

David the Psalmist also gives thanks to God for the believers who have served the Lord faithfully and who have gone Home to be with Him. David says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints”(Psalm 116:15). As we celebrate the 20th Anniversary of Ebenezer B-P Church, we give heartfelt thanks to God for each one at Ebenezer who has gone to Heaven. We miss them dearly and remember them always in our hearts. We fondly remember these precious saints who have died — Jeffrey Jean,  Kevin Tye, Mr Tan Bong Keng and Mrs Tan Ai Choo, Deacon Khoo Yew Hock,  Harry Russell, Richard Turner, Alan Mouzon, Rev Dr Patrick Tan, Jock Campbell, Mrs Stephanie Ho, Dr Tow Siang Hwa, and Elder Edward Meyale.  We are comforted that they are safe in the arms of Jesus and they are now rejoicing with the Lord up in Heaven.

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ at Ebenezer, we thank God for each and everyone who believes in our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and who is serving Him faithfully here. We remember you in our prayers. May the Lord bless each one of you richly and keep you always in His loving care. Numbers 6:24–26.

Blessed 20th Anniversary and many, many more till we meet at the feet of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ in Heaven!

" O God, our Help is ages past, our Hope for years to come.

Be Thou our Guide while life shall last, and our eternal Home. Amen".
